The Young Innovation Leaders (YIL) Fellowship has officially opened applications for its 2025 cohort, inviting ambitious young professionals across Africa to apply for its prestigious innovation and leadership program.
The YIL Fellowship is widely recognized for identifying and nurturing high-potential individuals into transformative leaders. The program equips participants with critical problem-solving skills, leadership excellence, and innovative thinking through intensive training, mentorship, and hands-on innovation challenges. The initiative is designed to empower young professionals to address Africa’s pressing socio-economic and environmental challenges by providing them with the tools and networks necessary for impactful solutions.
Building on the success of the 2024 Bootcamp, which brought together 50 outstanding young leaders under the theme “Innovating for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth,” the 2025 edition aims to expand its impact by fostering a new generation of creative problem-solvers and changemakers across various fields.

Eligibility criteria:
- Young professionals aged between 20 and 35 years.
- Hold at least a bachelor’s degree.
- Possessing expertise in a specialized field that can be leveraged for problem-solving and value creation.
- Passionate about innovation, leadership, and driving positive change in Africa.
