The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Government of Italy, has announced the launch of the 2025 Youth4Climate Call for Solutions. This global initiative invites young climate leaders and youth-led organizations to submit innovative and impactful solutions to tackle the pressing challenges of climate change.
Young people are driving climate action worldwide, yet they often lack access to the financial, technical, and political support needed to scale their solutions. To bridge this gap, UNDP and the Government of Italy are offering seed funding of up to $30,000 per project, along with mentoring, training, and networking opportunities through the Youth4Climate initiative.
Since the first Call for Solutions in 2023, the Youth4Climate initiative has mobilized over 3,000 proposals from young innovators across 120+ countries and awarded 100 youth-led initiatives across 52 countries*, for a total envelope of USD 2.5 million globally.
In 2025, the Youth4Climate Call for Solutions launches its third round of funding opportunities for young people aged 18 to 29 and youth-led entities. Applicants to the Call for Solutions can request up to USD 30,000 in seed funding and successful applicants will also benefit from:
- Connections and visibility at country, regional and global levels that may enable scaling and growth of their projects.
- Capacity development offers include a mentorship programme consisting of group workshops, one-to-one mentorship, and project pitching and feedback opportunities.
In 2025, the Youth4Climate Call for Solutions returns with a fresh round of funding opportunities and new thematic priority areas:
- Climate Peace and Security
- Climate & Health
- Digital for Planet
- Sustainable Energy
- Food & Agriculture
- Nature for Climate Action
This opportunity is open to young individuals aged 18-29 as well as youth-led CSOs, CBOs, NGOs and private sector. The Call is available in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese and is open until May 26, 2025.
