Alejandra Patricia Corvalan Maira

Alejandra is a freelance civil society journalist who works in several social media and communications departments of NGOs related to open government, LGBTIQ+, positive masculinities, gender, bullying, youth, and volunteering. She obtained a Masters's in Strategic Communication from Universidad Finis Terrae in Chile and took courses in Open Government, and Citizen Participation with a Gender Perspective from United Nations Chile. She is passionate about human rights, youth empowerment, and digital activism. For the past 10 years, she has worked with several LGBTQ+ an civil society networks of her country, where she had led and delivered support to their staff and communications teams in the planning and implementation of social media strategies and helped them to make visible and concrete actions and advance in the development of public policies from below.
