Andrew James Bivins
Mentors
My name is Andrew Bivins. I will graduate this May with a degree in International Affairs, a German minor, and a certificate in Global Studies. I first became interested in other cultures in high school after taking two educational trips to Western Europe and the Mediterranean. In college, I decided to focus all my general and elective courses towards building my understanding of the world we live in. After my freshman year, I had the opportunity to do a cultural exchange in Cambodia with the Cultural Understanding and Language Proficiency (CULP) Program. I taught English there and it was my first real experience in a non-western country. I loved it so much that I applied to do it again the next summer. I was accepted again, only this time I was sent to Tunisia. Having the opportunity to be there in 2012 just after the revolution made it unlike any experience I have ever had. I am now looking to donate my time to anyone who can benefit from it.
