Anisse Terai

Fellowship Programme

Anisse Terai is the Head of Asset Management, Policy and Partnerships at the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), the trade specialized arm of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group. He oversights his global portfolio and mandate from ITFC Dubai office. Prior to that, he was in charge of commodity and infrastructure financing in Africa, MENA & South America. Earlier in his career, he worked in the energy sector including for Sonatrach and Schlumberger. Anisse teaches energy economics and finance at Paris-Dauphine University. He has also assumed the position of Adjunct Professor at HEC Paris Business School, and was prior to that Assistant Professor of energy economics and Director of the Master in International Energy at Sciences Po Paris. Where he also managed the academic affairs of Paris School of International Affairs – PSIA in his capacity as Assistant Dean. Moreover, Anisse publishes editorials, newspapers articles and scientific articles. He is also invited on regular basis to speak on topics like economic policy, energy, international trade, Islamic finance, SMEs development and sustainable development. Furthermore, he thrives in multicultural environments, having worked and travelled to different countries. Anisse is very active in the Civil Society and is a founding member of the civil society initiative and Think-Tank NABNI (Notre Algerie Batie sur de Nouvelles Idees). He is also a founding member, former Vice President, Secretary General and Director of ATLAS (Algerian Talents and Leaders Association). Anisse is a member of the London Business School (LBS) Africa Club Advisory Board. He is also a member of the International Chamber of Commerce Banking Commission. He is recognized every year as one of Africa’s Emerging Economic Leaders by the Choiseul Institute. Anisse is an alumnus of HEC Algiers Business School, Sciences Po Paris, the French National School of Administration – ENA – and Harvard University.
