ANTHONY SHUKO MUSIWA

Summer Schools

Trained in social work, development studies, policy research and law, I bring a multi-disciplinary understanding to issues facing children, young people and women particularly in development and humanitarian settings. I have extensive experience spanning nearly seven years in designing and delivering donor-funded multi-packaged programs focusing on primary healthcare, social protection, HIV and AIDS mitigation, child/human rights, youth engagement and gender advocacy. I possess a unique base of strong and transferable development management, policy, practice and implementation research skills, key among which include:- • Project cycle management (including training and technical assistance), mainly focusing on building/strengthening the capacity of government line ministries, service providers, implementing partners, relevant public/private sector entities, communities and families to sustainably care for and support children, youth and women; • Partnership-building, mainly in terms of fostering collaborative and synergistic relationships with government ministries, local authorities, public/private sector entities, donors, academia etc. at global, national and sub-national levels; and, • Resource mobilization, financial governance and donor management, having been extensively involved with programs supported by global agencies like USAID/PEPfAR, Gates Foundation, UKAID/DfID, ELMA Foundation, Caritas, US Department of Justice Office on Violence against Women, and other individual actors. Research-wise, I examine child rights and legal/constitutional justice issues, child (sexual) abuse and management, child poverty, social protection, and gender. Ultimately, I always bring real and substantive contributions to every meaningful change effort I am a part of, be it at organizational, sub-national, national and/or international level.
