Liora Gomel
Intercultural Innovation Award (IIA)
Created in 2007 in response to the lack of awareness about discrimination in Argentina, the organization aims at establishing mechanisms for effective education on these issues. They work in Buenos Aires with youth, offering spaces for reflection on how diversity enriches society, making visible day-to-day practices that reinforce discrimination, providing tools to recognize and dismantle such practices. The success of this program is due to having found the right approach to reach teens and young adults, with methodologies that speak to their sensibilities, utilizing live music, games, humor, audiovisual technologies, encouraging exchanges that are engaging, fresh and feel real to them.
