Intercultural Innovation Award (IIA)
I hold a PhD in Political Science, and have been into research on African politics. I am Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Studies, University of Pecs. I spent an invaluable year as exchange student at the University of Leicester, UK, 1998-1999. I teach courses on Africa in global politics, the African state, South-South relations, globalisation, political culture, China in global affairs. I have been involved in editorial work in Hungary and abroad, and do reviewing for some journals. I regularly organise scientific conferences, summer schools and cultural events - including the ICWiP International Studies Summer School (www.icwip.hu) and the DRC Summer School (www.drcsummerschool.eu). I am director of Hungary's Africa Research Centre (www.africa.pte.hu). I have my own research think tank called IDResearch (www.idresearch.hu), and I have been research director of the UNAOC-BMW Intercultural Award-winning 'Immigropoly - The migration game' project (immigropoly.hu). Currently, I am Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar at the Center for African Studies, University of Florida, Gainesville.
