Summer Schools

Growing up in the Netherlands with a group of very close friends from all different backgrounds and nationalities has triggered my interest in multicultural dialogue and conflict resolution and led to an education in journalism and a masters degree in conflict studies with a focus on the usage of sport in reconciliation processes. I’ve been a fanatic soccer player for years and still very much into all types of sport. Within my professional career I’ve been able to combine the desire to work on multicultural dialogue, community building and conflict resolution with my passion for sports. I’m working for the International Sports Alliance, a Dutch NGO that is working in the field of sport for development and helps local partner organisations in several countries to sustain and increase the impact of their work. Through this work I have experience in giving capacity building training sessions in monitoring & evaluation, writing proposals and organizational skills. Also I’ve been teaching in an international minor of the University of applied sciences in Amsterdam which focuses on the social impact of sport. Furthermore I’ve experience in peace and sport programs and creating economic empowerment through sport.
