Lenka Petkova

Lenka Peťková is as an External Relations Officer at European Spallation Source, a multi-disciplinary research facility based on what will be the world's most powerful neutron source, generating new science and innovations for a sustainable society. Lenka received her master's degree in European studies and bachelor's in international relations from the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. She studied at Istanbul Kültür University as an exchange student when writing her master and bachelor theses. When interning with the Slovak daily SME and writing for the online portal Youth Week, she won the European Young Journalist Award for her article addressing stereotypes and prejudice of Europeans against Turkey. After completing her studies, Lenka started working at Global Political Trends Center (GPoT Center), a think-tank established under the auspices of Istanbul Kültür University with the aim to support reconciliation and non-violent solution to international issues through dialogue and informed debate. As a project officer at GPoT Center, Lenka managed Cyprus programs contributing to a lasting settlement on the island and programs supporting rapprochement between Turkey and Armenia. Lenka is a keen photographer and likes to write short stories.
