Rakesh Nair
Intercultural Innovation Award (IIA)
Rakesh Nair is an anti trafficking activist passionate about ending exploitation, rooting out inequality, advocating for justice and empowering people to take action to end human trafficking. He has worked relentlessly to bring about change in the attitude of gatekeepers and stakeholders for women and child friendly border management policies as well as awareness regarding cross border human trafficking. He has conceptualized and developed path breaking anti human trafficking strategies and service delivery models that has been widely recognized at National and International forums. Rakesh currently serves as the General Secretary of Manav Seva Sansthan an NGO working for development of underprivileged and underserved communities in poorest regions of India. He received his Masters in Environment Management in the year 1996 from Shivaji University in Maharashtra. With over 13 years of experience in development sector, his skills lie in project designing, strategy development, policy & advocacy, fundraising, and partnership development.
