Shawn Renee Lent
Fellowship Programme
Shawn Renee Lent is a social practice dance artist and manager currently in Cairo, Egypt. She has the unique honors of being a U.S. Fulbright Scholar (Egypt 2012-2013) lecturing at the High Institute of Ballet, United Nations Alliance of Civilizations International Fellow and Intercultural Leader, and British Council Transatlantic Network 2020 member. For the past year, Shawn has volunteered to develop dance programming and arts events at 57357 Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt. Shawn's work as an educator and consultant in community arts has also brought her to East London, Northwest Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Palestine, and Uganda. Previously, Shawn was the Arts Integration Program Specialist at Columbia College Chicago for six years, bringing the arts into public school curricula. Ms. Lent also serves as a choreographer and blogger (http://www.shawnlent.com). Shawn holds a Masters of Arts Management degree with an emphasis in Arts in Youth and Community Development from Columbia College Chicago.
