Media Literacy enthusiast and practitioner of Visual and Applied Art, Shruti Rai is winner of Rajat Kamal from President of India. Engaged in evolving culture/music/art as tool for activism, change and empowerment she is also a Practitioner of rare nomadic performing arts & music. She is part of Nomadic Caravan- a project born to preserve, promote and transmit to the future generations as well as to raise the concerns of nomadic/gypsy communities in the world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggD89Nrg3nA Having designed an award winning project Nomadic Haat @ BKS Subway in New Delhi in collaboration with Govt. of India that transformed from being a dark underpass space to the most frequented cultural address, she is on her way to develop new diplomacy language connecting youth from different states and countries via nomadic culture and music. She has also initiated GOODRI PROJECT that is instrumental in reviving the traditional art, knowledge, and skills to provide livelihood to nomadic women using 3R (Recycle, Reduce and Reuse) process helping climate change and environment conservation. Presently she is director of International CHINH INDIA KIDS FILM FESTIVAL promoting media literacy among children and young people within school education framework.
