On May 7, 2016, 800 people were gathered in a small alley in Beirut city, awaiting the huge metal gates to unveil what has been lying behind for too long now! It is indeed a circus school, in a city where these two words don’t meet, and education is rigid and old-fashioned.
cirquenciel, a project launched in 2002 has now grown to become a social enterprise with three pillars: a social circus troupe, an entertainment troupe, and a circus school.
Thanks to all the help we received, we were able to successfully launch a free open space for everyone! Thank you UNAOC and BMW Group for taking part of this journey.
